Our STORY
What’s the story behind our name, icon, and logo? We think by sharing our story, it will tell you a lot about who we are.
The name and logo of our company have been in the back of my mind for almost 20 years now. I chose “Sage” based on the definition as it relates to a person. A sage person is defined as one who takes a wise and prudent approach to matters at hand. After 25 years in this industry, I realized my journey to becoming a sage person is just that – a journey and not a destination. I hope I am becoming more and more sage as time goes by.
The ”Wealth Design” portion of our name is self-explanatory: we want to help you design your wealth in the way you want it to be designed. We want you to know what is important to you about money and wealth before we begin calculating the current value. As I like to say, we want to understand your values before we calculate the value of your assets.
Some of you may recognize the icon in the background of our logo. It’s called a sextant. Many years ago, I read an address by a gentleman who described that a sextant was used by the ancient mariners to look to the night skies and assess their current position by reading the stars. This was especially important after a prolonged storm. What a fitting analogy, right?
Financially, we know the storm will come. Some may be of our own making, but others will be out of our control. Through proper financial planning, we can help part the clouds and locate the stars. The stars we seek are principles, and principles are truths. They are fixed just as the stars in the heavens are. We use those principles to assess your current financial position in relation to your stated destination: your goals, dreams, and aspirations. These ancient mariners then used these same stars to make any needed course corrections. Using the principles at hand, we will do the same. Based on your plans and goals using financial principles, we can make the needed course corrections to better assist you in reaching your desired destination – ones that you’ve looked to the stars and dreamed about.
